Currently, we have an excellent opportunity available for a Senior Technical Specialist - Reporting to join our rapidly growing company. This position is located in our Carrollton, Texas office and the requisition number is RT9347.

The Senior Technical Specialist (Reporting) will work closely with the data warehouse team, internal Xchanging personnel, and external customers to deliver information solutions. This individual will define standards and implement processes for the reporting function within Xchanging.

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

Lead the support, development and implementation of front end products (reports, tools, cubes, etc.) to deliver leading edge value to Xchanging and our customer information needs

Develop processes, procedures, and strategy for moving the business intelligence delivery forward

Work with and lead technical resources to build an information delivery process and technical infrastructure to support the Xchanging data warehouse and the information needs of Xchanging and our customers

Lead the migration from Cognos 7 to Cognos 8

Other duties as assigned

The individual who fills this position will function as both a team lead (30%) and an individual performer (70%).

Qualified candidates will have:

Bachelor's Degree (preferably in IS)

Experience in a lead role as an Information Technology Manager with a track record of on-time, quality delivery

EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS

Solid background in technology:

software development

experience with software life cycle methodologies

software/code maintenance

infrastructure development

Ability to work effectively with diverse group of individuals from users to developers

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Excellent time management and project management skills

Self starter who can take general direction and direct a team to create solutions for users/customers

Excellent team player who can maximize team output and quality.

Technical:

Cognos 7.x and 8.x experience (BOTH REQUIRED)

Oracle RDBMS

Ralph Kimball dimensional modeling

Corporate web portals

Claims industry experience (worker's compensation) a plus.
